The Thunderbird Paddling Festival brings paddleboarders, kayakers, and fans of all kinds of water sports to compete and display their abilities. Everybody is welcome to participate in the fun, as there are races and contests for all skill levels.
The competitors’ starting line is Sand Harbor Beach. They paddle south of Sand Harbor to start the race.
In order to return to Sand Harbor Beach, where the finish line is located, competitors must paddle until they reach the turning point, which is Crystal Point.
3 Different Races
Three races are available at this yearly gathering at Lake Tahoe: an 8-mile race, a 4-mile race, and the Big Blue Waterman Challenge. The 8-mile race is the longest of the three and is regarded as the main event.
Even though the 4-mile race is shorter, it is still a challenging distance. Despite being the shortest of the three races, the Big Blue Waterman Challenge is the most challenging because participants must swim.
Paddleboarders and triathletes alike will excel at the Big Blue Waterman Challenge.
