The waterfall is an incredible sight and a great place to take a break and enjoy the view. This is an excellent place to turn around if you don’t want to travel all the way to the top of Mount Rose. You can enjoy the view from here and head back down when ready.

Finding the Trailhead

To find Mt. Rose Trailhead, you drive going south from Reno and exit near The Summit Mall onto Mt. Rose Highway. From there, you can follow the signs that will take you to Lake Tahoe and Incline Village.

Continue heading up through the Galena Area until you reach the Galena Creek Visitor Center and Recreation Area. You can continue on this road, winding your way up the mountain past the Mt. Rose ski area until it takes you to the Mt. Rose Trailhead. The trailhead is on the right as you travel to the West/Southwest.
