The well-traveled route is simple to follow as you gradually rise from the parking lot. After traveling approximately a quarter of a mile, you will ascend to some magnificent stone stairs built directly into the rock face.

This trail is not considered to be wheelchair friendly due to the stairs as well as the trail width and uphill ascent.

When you reach Eagle Lake, turn left until the route leads you to an immense group of shattered boulders. The route is treacherous in parts, so be sure to take your time and watch your step.

From South Lake Tahoe, take Highway 89 north for approximately 8 miles to reach the Eagle Falls Picnic Area. This scenic picnic area offers visitors a stunning view of cascading Eagle Falls as well as several nearby mountain peaks. 

Then, from there, you can start your journey to this easy hiking trail in Lake Tahoe.

This trail is close to South Lake Tahoe. The ideal time to visit and take in all the natural beauty is earlier in the mornings of spring or fall. You can enjoy a tranquil hike during these off-peak seasons, and parking will be easier.
