Lake Tahoe boasts stunning golf courses, perfect for golf lovers. But guess what? In April, you can try something totally different: snow golf!

Every year, Palisades Tahoe hosts the Snow Golf Tournament, a tradition for over thirty years.

Golfers joining this event tee off from a floating green onto the icy surface of Lake Tahoe, aiming for flags scattered around the lake.

It’s open to anyone curious enough to give it a shot and adds a unique twist to Tahoe’s spring lineup.

This tournament is a standout because it’s played on snow, not grass. Golfers from all corners of the globe flock to Tahoe for this event, making it one of the highlights of the year.

Even if you’re not a golfer, it’s worth popping by to witness the fun – it’s unlike anything else!

Stunning Views

The nine-hole course starts at the top of the Summit Express Chair, giving players stunning views of the valley below.

Then, it winds its way down the mountain, providing a challenge for even the most experienced golfers, before bringing them back to Alpine Bowl Chair at the base.

Signing up for the Snow Golf Tournament is free, but you need a season pass or lift tickets.

After signing up, you can grab clubs, scorecards, and golf balls at the base station.

Each player gets one golf club and two balls for the tournament. Then, they hop on the Summit Chair to start the game.

The first tee time usually starts at 9 am, and the last one is at 12 pm. Everyone needs to be ready to tee off by 9 am, so everything goes smoothly and finishes on time.

Each game lasts about four hours, depending on the number of players and how fast they play.

Win Prizes

After the tournament, golfers can win raffle prizes and enjoy live music. There are all sorts of prizes up for grabs, and the live music adds to the fun atmosphere.

It’s a fantastic way for golfers to unwind and have a blast after a day of friendly competition.

Ready to join in the fun? Registration for the event kicks off bright and early at 8 am in the Alpine base area.

Remember, it’s first-come, first-served, so don’t hit that snooze button too many times! See you there bright and early!
