It’s a smaller beach, but there are plenty of activities and adventures that guests can experience at Tahoe’s Lake Forest Beach. Swimming and launching water crafts are perfect ways to explore the clear water of the beach.

You can bring your paddle boards or kayak for an unforgettable moment with your family and friends. It’s very easy to launch a kayak from the beach. Afternoon winds may make it challenging to kayak later in the day.

Personal Story

I personally will tell you one of the scariest moments of my life was as a summer camp counselor in Lake Tahoe very near this beach.

Unlike in the movies, drowning people don’t make a fuss or make any noise. I had walked with other counselors and a group of pre-teen campers out to the edge of the underwater cliffs.

Another counselor and I just happened to look down and see the blue eyes of one of the pre-teens looking up at us as he was sinking off the edge of the cliff. We grabbed him and pulled him up.

He was shaken but fine, he didn’t make a splash or any noise.

Stay away from underwater cliffs!

Wild Flowers

Once you’re done exploring through the water, there are picnic tables and grilling stations for you to recharge your energy. You can enjoy a nice picnic while surrounded by beautiful nature.

Birdwatching is also a very popular activity in the area, as the beach is surrounded by tall trees and pretty flowers. Some sites say this beach is great for looking at wildflowers.

Springtime is the only time you will find flowers here. Growing up here, I can honestly say that if you’re looking for flowers, hike into the mountains.

In the spring, remember to take your camera with you and capture the expansive fields of lupine. Lupines are a particular type of flower that comes in various colors, including purple, blue, pink, and white.

They serve as a breathtaking sight and make for an excellent photo opportunity. They bloom only in spring, so around mid-May or June is the perfect time to go here if you want to see them in all their glory.

Also, check out some of the Lake Tahoe festivals if you visit during the month of June.

Dog-Friendly

Another great thing about this stunning beach in Lake Tahoe is its designated area for guests who want to bring their dogs.

There are signs pointing to the dog-friendly side of the area, so you need to ensure that you and your furry friend are on the right side. To get on that side, you must cross the little bridge and look for a plastic bag dispenser.
