If you’ve been coming here for a while, you knew it by its old name. The resort announced its new name in March 2023. It made the change together with the Washoe Tribe, whose ancestral lands include Olympic Valley, to retire a term considered derogatory. It’s still part of Destination by Hyatt.
From Interstate 80 in Truckee, it’s about eight miles south on Highway 89, then a short drive up Olympic Valley Road. Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about 42 miles away. The resort doesn’t run an airport shuttle, but the concierge can help you book one.
The Olympic Village Inn is also a great place to stay in North Lake Tahoe.

The resort has 405 rooms and suites, from deluxe king and queen rooms to fireplace suites and two- and three-bedroom penthouses. Many of the suites are privately owned condominiums that are part of the resort’s rental program.
Rooms come with a pillow-top bed, a flat-screen TV, a mini refrigerator, a Lavazza coffee maker, a safe, and robes and slippers. Suites add a gas fireplace, a two-burner stovetop, a microwave and a dishwasher. The penthouses have a full-size refrigerator, a four-burner stovetop, and a washer and dryer.
Rooms look out over the Sierra Nevada, pine forests and meadows. Ask about views when you book, since they vary by room.
Aside from your room, there’s plenty to do on the property. The Oasis Pool complex is heated year-round and has hot tubs, and in summer there’s a poolside bar and dive-in movies on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Spa at Everline is the only spa in Olympic Valley. It has ten treatment rooms for massages, body treatments and facials, plus a fitness center, a steam room and a sauna.
In winter, you can ski straight to the lifts at Palisades Tahoe. The resort also has a private ice rink and more than six miles of Nordic trails, and you can go snowshoeing or sledding.

In summer, The Links at Everline is a championship Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course at the base of Palisades Tahoe. You can also book a guided fly-fishing trip, mountain bike, or set out on a hiking trail that starts at the resort.
Lake Tahoe is a short drive away for boating, rafting and paddleboarding. Free resort shuttles run daily to the Village at Palisades Tahoe, and from Memorial Day to Labor Day they also go to Tahoe City.
Six Peaks Grille is the resort’s contemporary steakhouse, open Wednesday through Sunday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sandy’s Pub serves casual, family-friendly food daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Cascades has a breakfast buffet every morning.
In summer, the Oasis Pool Bar serves drinks and food Friday through Sunday. If you get hungry late, the front desk runs a small market with snacks, microwave meals, beer and wine from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
